Scientific and real-life evidence has already demonstrated, clearly, the Digital Health benefits in people Health care. Greater access to services, effective solutions to problems and better clinical outcomes, are among the various benefits seen.
The recent Telemedicine and Telehealth legislation and regulation advancement has set a milestone for expanding the practice of such methods in supplementary public and private Health systems.
The digital transformation we are seeing involves a large Health spectrum: quality of life and promotion to Health, prevention, diagnostics and treatment, including rehabilitation. And more than ever, such care is being delivered to people at the comfort and security of their homes.
Telemedicine and Telehealth are inserted within Digital Health, and their practices by physicians and professionals in the field must be conducted in responsible and humanized manner – focusing the care on people’s life, where, when, and whenever possible, how they want and need.
A key challenge is to deliver Digital Health benefits to all population, where people are and when necessary. It is imperative that access to Telemedicine and Telehealth be expanded to all citizens, either in the public or private system. Health universality, integrality and equity principles will be further reached by bringing remote care to in-person care.
